Rick Fair

Estate Planning Attorney, Jordan ESQ.

Rick joined Jordan ESQ in 2022 as an Estate Planning Attorney.  He specializes in probate, real estate, and complex business formations. Prior to joining the firm, he ran a private practice based out of Lubbock, where he represented real estate investors and families with business start-up planning, business succession planning, and implementing comprehensive asset protection strategies to serve clients with significant real estate holdings.  The overarching goal of Rick’s practice has been his focus on protecting client’s assets through litigation-tested asset protection strategies and comprehensive tax planning.

A third-generation educator, Rick has a background teaching in higher education, as he currently serves as an adjunct professor for several colleges teaching Legal and Business Ethics, Business Law, and Texas Real Estate courses for students seeking their Texas Real Estate license.     He has experience teaching upper-division seminars for Texas Tech University and occasionally teaches courses in Texas History with a focus on the Texas legal system during the Civil War/Reconstruction-era.

During college, Rick studied American History and Political Science, earning a Masters in American History with a focus on Texas Legal History and a Masters Certification in Homeland Security.  Rick enjoys estate planning and real estate law as he feels it balances his love of history by serving as a steward of the past through honoring his clients’ legacies and ensuring their stories reach subsequent generations.

Rick has spent a significant portion of his practice researching and often litigating the Texas Series LLC model throughout the State of Texas.  Over his career, he has set up over fifty (50) comprehensive asset protection strategies utilizing the Series LLC, including his father’s real estate development and investments in Central Texas.  Rick also actively researches cryptocurrency, digital assets, and their taxation implications and best practices in estate planning.  As a Circular 230 Attorney, he has also represented clients before the Internal Revenue Service drafting Private Letter Rulings and negotiating for clients utilizing the Series LLC model and cryptocurrency.
